BAC WINS BEST OVERALL EXHIBITOR AND 1st PRIZE LOCAL PUBLIC INSTITUTION AWARD AT THE 2017 BOTSWANA HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT SKILLS FAIR AND CAREER CLINICS

Date:
27 Mar 2017
Botswana Accountancy College participated at the just ended 2017 Botswana Human Resource Development Skills fair and Career Clinics. The college has over two decades of creating business
leaders. As an institution of higher learning, we facilitate career guidance through career fairs during visits to various secondary schools, dikgotla and mass media channels. The BHRDS is one of the platforms we use to raise awareness about BAC and our programmes, to facilitate career advice and administer applications. We are proud to have obtained the 2017 Best Overall Exhibitor and 1st Prize Local Public Institution awards. To us this is a badge of honour, and a demonstration of dedication and excellent team effort from all stakeholders. It is also motivation for the team to continue delivering quality tertiary education and grooming aspiring leaders who will add value to the economic diversification and growth of our Country.

The BAC stall at the BHRDS was designed to showcase both the theory and practical work through demonstrations of products to highlight career opportunities for the various programmes we offer across the various schools. The team consisted of BAC staff members, current students to encourage and inspire their peers about their learning experience at BAC. There were exhibitions of alumni commercial innovations to cultivate an appreciation of entrepreneurship in prospective learners such that they understand that they can form businesses from studying various programmes and designing their own concepts. The youth of this country are our future leaders, therefore they need to be encouraged to participate in employment creation through establishing their own companies using the knowledge attained from school, experience from industry attachment and understanding of business needs. Hence we design our programmes in line with national skills requirements and as well as introduce entrepreneurship into various programmes to provide students with the expertise to be globally competitive graduates who can make impactful contribution to any organisation or become successful entrepreneurs.
